200 Free Tutoring Hours

This program aims to offer 260 hours of free STEM tutoring services to students in the economically distressed School District of Lancaster. Tutoring sessions will be conducted virtually via live video conferencing in 45-minute increments, primarily during the regular school calendar year. The goal is to support students in their STEM education and academic success.

Financial Literacy

The Financial Literacy program focuses on educating students, particularly in Lancaster City, about key aspects of financial literacy. This includes creating a budget, planning for retirement, managing debt, and tracking personal spending. The program introduces students to various resources such as books, podcasts, financial content, and interactions with financial professionals to enhance their financial knowledge and skills.

SAT/ACT Prep

The SAT/ACT Prep program provides students with preparation resources and support to excel in these standardized tests. Students typically start preparing for the SAT/ACT tests after completing Algebra 2 and the content covered includes fundamental review topics that students have learned since middle school. The program aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform well in these important exams.

Pool School (Geometry & Physics):

The Pool School Project is an educational initiative that offers students an engaging opportunity to learn Geometry and Physics concepts through the game of pool/billiards. This program takes place outside of the traditional school setting and aims to provide a unique and hands-on learning experience for participants.

By exploring the principles of Geometry and Physics in the context of pool, students will enhance their problem-solving skills, creativity, and collaboration abilities. The ultimate goal is to demonstrate the practical applications of these academic subjects in a real-world scenario, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for Geometry and Physics among students.

The program covers tuition, learning materials, lodging, food, camp apparel, transportation, and additional amenities. Future plans include expanding the initiative to offer STEM camps during the summers, further advancing students’ knowledge and skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Students in Engineering

The Students in Engineering program aims to introduce middle school students to the exciting world of engineering through hands-on activities and projects. Engineering goes beyond constructing bridges and designing machines; it provides a unique perspective on understanding the world by integrating science, mathematics, and innovation. This program offers students the opportunity to engage in fun engineering tasks that involve practical problem-solving and creativity. By working with their hands and exploring various engineering concepts, students will develop critical thinking skills and a deeper appreciation for the field of engineering. The goal is to inspire and cultivate the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and problem solvers in the field of engineering.

Scholarships

The Scholarships program at Mr. Mitchell For Mathematics, Inc. aims to support aspiring STEM majors by providing a $1000 scholarship to a deserving senior student from McCaskey High School. To apply for the scholarship, students must submit an essay (not exceeding 500 words) detailing how their passion for STEM originated and how the scholarship will help them achieve their academic and career aspirations. This initiative seeks to recognize and empower students who demonstrate a strong interest in STEM fields and require financial support to pursue their educational goals.

Volunteer/Mentorship

In the tapestry of mentorship, voluntarism emerges as a guiding thread, weaving together the aspirations, dreams, and aspirations of individuals across diverse backgrounds and experiences. Its transformative power lies not in grand gestures or lofty ideals but in the simple act of extending a helping hand and walking alongside others on their journey of growth.
